Marvella Ford, PhD to speak at special NRG Oncology Workshop on Cultural Competency in Clinical Trials
This workshop, on Friday, July 15, at 11 a.m., is designed for NRG Oncology research investigators, nurses, CRAs, and support staff to understand the role cultural competency plays in clinical trials. With recruitment of patients from underrepresented minority groups in clinical trials at less than 1%, there is an opportunity to reduce this gap in health disparity! Don't forget to register.

ASCO Interview with Dr. Curran now featured on MedPage Today
Walter J. Curran Jr., MD, an NRG Oncology Group Chair, was recently interviewed regarding adjuvant temozolomide in elderly patients with glioblastoma at the 2016 American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting. The full interview video is available on MedPage Today’s website.

Drs. Wolmark and Geyer to speak at inaugural breast cancer meeting in China
Norman Wolmark, MD, an NRG Oncology Group Chair, and Charles E. Geyer, Jr., MD, Associate Director for Clinical Research at Virginia Commonwealth University Massey Cancer Center, are invited speakers at the inaugural Guangzhou Breast Cancer Symposium being held in Guangzhou, China on June 17-18. The symposium, which will be attended by more than 500 expert medical oncologists and surgeons from China and will feature speakers from the United States and Great Britain, is being organized by Ning Liao, MD, a leading breast cancer researcher and head of the Breast Department, Cancer Center at Guangdong General Hospital in Guangzhou, China.
