September 15 is the deadline for the following scholarships from CMC South.
The Elisabeth Javor K-8 Mentoring Award is awarded to the mentor of a K-8 classroom teacher in his/her first five years of service, and to the teacher being mentored.
The Lurie Center Elementary Teaching Award is awarded to an elementary classroom teacher (K-6) who has demonstrated outstanding work with students of color, particularly work that has encouraged students to improve their mathematical literacy.
The Susie Hakansson Award for Fostering Emerging Leadership of Math Educators of Color is awarded to an educator who has mentored and supported a mathematics educator who is a person of color.

The ComMuniCator Editor and Editorial Panel have selected the theme “Games and Activities to Implement the California Mathematics Standards, Grades K–12” for the 2016–17 Special Edition and are seeking descriptions of games and activities to include in this issue. Please consider submitting your favorite game(s) or activities, along with: a brief description of how you would introduce them to students, the appropriate grade levels, the mathematics standards that would be addressed, and any materials needed. Deadline for submissions is June 2, 2016.
