TRAINING IN FOOD PROCESSING |
TCF Corbett has launched another training programme under its Sustainable Livelihoods purview – Food Processing Training. Beneficiaries of this training – Forest-dwelling communities around Corbett Tiger Reserve – are being trained to make processed foods such as candied
amla, mango pickles, jackfruit pickles, tomato purée and other such food products. The Self-Help groups that will be formed post-training, will, with TCF’s aid, sell these products through market linkages, substantially supplementing the income of the community members.

WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PROJECT |
After completing a study and submitting feasibility report to the Coca Cola India Foundation for a Watershed Management Plan, TCF has launched the Watershed Management project for villages in the Manpur block of Umaria district in Bandhavgarh. Watershed Management serves to encourage agricultural and livelihood development in such rainfed areas, especially in light of the water scarcity and subsequent shortfall for irrigation in these areas. SOLAR-POWERED LIGHTS FOR VILLAGERS IN KPC |
The Corbett Foundation distributed solar powered lights to the villagers of Khara and Polbatur, both situated deep inside the beautiful forest of Balaghat Forest Division, adjacent to Kanha Tiger Reserve and an important part of the Kanha-Pench Corridor (KPC). Both the villages are not yet provided with grid-electricity. This donation was made possible by the efforts of Tejas Bimal Goculdas, studying in Cathedral High School Mumbai. On visitng these villages, Tejas was was moved by their plight and made an appeal for donations to his classmates. We are extremely grateful to the parents who donated towards this worthy cause. More villages in KPC will be supported by biogas and solar-lights in the near future.
